Hear What People Are Saying About Jon and Why They Are Supporting His Re-Election

“Our region needs leaders who understand the complexities of addressing important local issues such as improving transportation, protecting the environment, and keeping the community safe. I have had an opportunity to partner with Jon at the County level to enhance our transit system, preserve additional open spaces, and launch a regional crisis response agency to assist those who are experiencing behavioral health crises. Jon does his homework and always comes prepared. We are well-served to have his thoughtful, informed, and independent leadership on the City Council.”
-Rod Dembowski, King County Councilmember District 1

“Having served with Jon on City Council, I know firsthand he is the kind of leader Kirkland needs—thoughtful, experienced, and dedicated to making our city a better place for everyone. His deep knowledge of city government and commitment to pragmatic solutions make him an invaluable voice on the council.”
-Amy Walen, Former Kirkland Mayor and State Representative, 48th Legislative District

“Jon has been a strong partner in making sure Kirkland’s growth aligns with school capacity and infrastructure needs. His leadership on the School District Coordinating Committee has been invaluable in ensuring we plan for student success.”
Eric Laliberte, Lake Washington School District School Board Director

“Jon believes in a Kirkland where every resident has a say in shaping our future. His dedication to open communication and transparent decision-making is what makes him such a strong advocate for our neighborhoods.”
Scott Morris, President of the Finn Hill Neighborhood Alliance

"As someone deeply involved in our community for nearly two decades - first as the Kirkland Alliance of Neighborhoods (KAN) representative and later as the Chair of the Everest Neighborhood Association - I have witnessed firsthand Jon’s dedication, accessibility, and commitment to our city. Jon has consistently demonstrated a willingness to listen to residents and offer thoughtful guidance on key issues. Whether serving on the Planning Commission or as a City Council Member, he has remained engaged with the community, ensuring that our voices are heard and our concerns are addressed. Too often, residents feel unheard despite participating in countless meetings, workshops, and hearings and sharing our opinions—but Jon has always been an exception. He values input from the community and acts on it. One significant example of Jon’s integrity and commitment was during a major zoning change consideration effecting both the Everest and Houghton neighborhoods. After years of community engagement and overwhelming support from residents, the Planning Commission aligned with our position. However, when it reached the City Council, only Jon and one other member stood with us. His courage to advocate for the community, even when it was not the majority decision, speaks volumes about his character and dedication to doing what is right. Jon Pascal is the kind of leader Kirkland needs - someone with common sense, a deep respect for community input, and a steadfast commitment to making decisions that reflect the will of the people. I wholeheartedly support his re-election and encourage my fellow residents to do the same."
Anna Rising, Former Everest Neighborhood Chair

"I’ve had the privilege of working closely with Councilmember Pascal on local issues that directly impact my family and community. Through this experience, I’ve gained valuable insight into his thoughtful, solutions-focused approach to Kirkland’s most complex challenges. His professionalism, curiosity, and commitment to practical problem-solving set him apart. He listens with genuine care and consistently applies a common-sense perspective, thoughtfully balancing and prioritizing the needs of residents. I wholeheartedly endorse Councilmember Pascal and hope Kirkland continues to benefit from his leadership for another four years."
